What to Expect at Your Pet’s First Visit
Your first appointment is a chance for us to get to know you and your pet. During the visit, our veterinarian will perform a thorough nose-to-tail exam, review your pet’s medical history, and talk with you about diet, behavior, activity level, and any concerns you’ve noticed at home. If your pet would benefit from diagnostics such as blood work or digital X-rays, we’ll explain the options and costs before moving forward.
Many new clients come to us looking for an integrative approach. If you’re interested in holistic and naturopathic care, acupuncture, or rehabilitation therapy, let us know when you schedule so we can plan enough time to discuss a complete treatment plan.
How to Prepare for Your Appointment
- Complete our new client form and bring it with you or fax it ahead of time
- Bring previous medical and vaccination records from your former veterinarian
- Make a list of current medications, supplements, and the food your pet eats
- Write down any questions or changes you’ve noticed in your pet’s health or behavior
- Bring dogs on a leash and cats in a secure carrier

What should I bring to my pet’s first appointment?
Please bring your completed new client form, your pet’s previous medical and vaccination records, a list of current medications and supplements, and details about their diet.
Can I fill out new client paperwork before my visit?
Yes. You can download our new client form from our online forms page, print it, and either fax it to us or bring it to your appointment.
How long does a first visit take?
Most new client visits take a little longer than routine appointments so we can review your pet’s history and answer your questions. Holistic or rehabilitation consultations may require additional time.
Do you offer holistic care for new patients?
Yes. New patients are welcome to schedule holistic consultations for acupuncture, chiropractic, Ayurveda, herbal medicine, and rehabilitation therapy, along with our traditional veterinary services.
